Overview

Established in 1967, Hunton Andrews Kurth’s Washington office provides services to a wide variety of clients in diverse areas of the law. Along with New York, it is the firm’s second-largest office with more than 150 lawyers. Because of our location in the nation’s capital, our lawyers are deeply involved in the workings of the federal government—from the US Supreme Court, to Congress, to the White House and federal agencies.

Our lawyers handle cutting-edge matters in a diverse range of practices, including bond finance; competition and antitrust; energy regulation; environmental law; food and drug regulatory law; general commercial litigation and transactions; intellectual property; labor and immigration; project finance and development; and real estate finance. Counted among our professionals are former senior regulators, federal prosecutors, high-level legislative staff members, and prominent transactional, intellectual property and environmental practitioners. The office additionally houses a number of lawyers seasoned in the practice of corporate and securities law, project finance, international transactions and other business issues.

Our Washington lawyers enthusiastically take part in a wide variety of pro bono efforts, contributing to organizations such as the Children’s Law Center, the DC Legal Aid Society, the Mid-Atlantic Innocence Project, Washington Area Lawyers for the Arts, Catholic Charities Immigration Legal Services, AARP Legal Services for the Elderly, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and the DC Bar Community Economic Development Project.
