Zia specializes in real estate transactions and conveyancing, mortgage - backed financing and loans, private client acquisitions, resort and other development projects and advising on and applying for all governmental and requisite approvals. Her practice also includes probate estate planning and immigration matters.

Recent engagements include:

• Representing a real estate developer with the purchase and development of a family island resort hotel including obtaining the relevant governmental approvals and entering into of a Hotels Encouragement Act Agreement with the Government of the Bahamas.
• Advising an international technology company on governmental and Grand Bahama Port Authority approval processes, permit and licensing requirements.
• Assisting and advising a major developer on business license processes and issues, labour and employment matters, and immigration matters.
• Advising and assisting a high net worth family with respect to probate matters involving a wide range of assets, including the distribution and sale of such assets.
• Various conveyancing and mortgaging transactions including inter vivos transfers related to estate planning.
