Shelley's practice focuses primarily on real estate acquisition and sales, property financing and mortgages, hotel and resort developments, short-term rental registration and general property matters.

Her practice also includes Immigration Law, notably matters related to permanent residency and homeowner's residency for high net-worth clients.

Recent engagements include:

• Assisting high-end clients with conveyancing, mortgaging, voluntary transfer, and deed of gift transactions.
• Assisting investors of boutique resorts, marinas, hotels, and private communities with obtaining the relevant Bahamas Investment Authority and Central Bank of The Bahamas approvals, and applications for the required port authority, hotel and business licenses and VAT registration.
• Assisting with representing numerous purchasers in a high-end gated community comprising a golf course and marina and situate in one of The Bahamas' wider family of Islands, including review of the governing documents of the development and securing title commitments. Additionally assisting with permit requirements in accordance with the provisions of the International Persons Landholding Act, 1993.
• Assisting with representing a local Bank in a $12 million-dollar mortgage of high-end commercial Bahamian real estate, including the preparation of the security and supplemental documents.
• Assisting foreign clients with permanent residency and homeowner's residency applications stemming from their investments in high value Bahamian real estate transactions.
