Jayel's practice is primarily focused in the financial services area, involving matters related to cross-border transactions, advising on government regulatory approvals for inward investments across various industry sectors in The Bahamas, economic substance compliance, and regulatory and compliance advice in the domestic gaming, insurance, banking, and securities sectors.

Her practice also involves advising a range of domestic and international clients on corporate and commercial matters, including corporate restructurings and insolvency, incorporations, and continuations. Jayel also provides advice to individual and corporate clients on immigration and naturalization related matters.

Recent engagements include:

• Advised a leading retailer in connection with restructuring its intercompany financing arrangements and cash management, including drafting, reviewing, and revising documents necessary to effect the restructuring.
• Advising on gaming related matters in connection with the proposed restructuring of a major resort.
• Advised in connection with a loan facility of US$180 million, secured by Bahamian all asset security and share charge and a debenture.
• Advising a Bahamian entity in connection with certain uncommitted loan facilities of US$850 million involving a world leading bank.
• Advising a global oil supply and trading company in connection with licensing procedures to obtain a financial and corporate service providers license with the Securities Commission of The Bahamas.
