Samantha Williams is a Partner in the firm's Property Practice.

Samantha specializes in real estate transactions and conveyancing,sales and structuring, mortgage-backed financing and loans, property title due diligence and opinions, title insurance,  and subdivision, commercial and residential leases, condominium agreements, corporate and finance matters,including the preparation of complex financing documents and the structuring of syndicated loans, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, related tax matters and issues, and in advising on and applying for all governmental and requisite approvals.

Samantha's practice also includes probate and estate matters.

Recent engagements include:

  • Representing a major resort in a sale-lease back transaction valued over $1 billion and U.S. based refinancing of mortgage of the resort property located on Paradise Island, The Bahamas, with a particular focus on lease, commercial contracts and security documentation review.
  • Representing a major resort developer in a $1.5 billion syndicated financing transaction involving major international financial institutional lenders, with a particular focus on loan agreement, commercial contracts and security documentation review, including the preparation of lender bankruptcy/zoning opinions.
  • Representing former industrial manufacturers in Freeport, Grand Bahama, The Bahamas, in a $38.5 million equity sale and purchase transaction, including obtaining relevant Bahamian governmental approvals and requisite approvals from The Grand Bahama Port Authority.
  • Representing a Canadian Bank in a CAD$9.2 million mortgage of high-end Bahamian real estate, including the preparation of Bahamian security and supplemental documents and obtaining requisite approvals from The Central Bank of The Bahamas and The Bahamas Investments Authority.
  • Representing investors in the acquisition and development of a nearly 2-acre tract in Hope Town, Abaco, The Bahamas, and providing advice in connection with the construction and establishment of a boutique resort, including applying for and obtaining relevant Bahamas Investments Authority, National Economic Council, Central Bank of the Bahamas approvals and assisting with the application for the required hotel license, business license and VAT registration.
