"Spilman Partner Neiser Elected to Academy of Trial Lawyers"
Pittsburgh — Spilman Thomas & Battle (Spilman) announced that partner Julian E. Neiser has been elected to the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County (ATLAC), an exclusive organization of the region’s most accomplished trial attorneys.
Neiser was selected for membership based on his distinguished record as a trial lawyer. Through his 25-year career, he has handled hundreds of complex commercial and construction disputes, representing clients across a broad range of industries. His extensive courtroom experience has resulted in numerous verdicts/awards before judges, juries, and arbitration panels. Of recent note, he won a jury trial in federal court involving a common law trademark and a multi-million-dollar award from the American Arbitration Association (AAA) involving pipeline construction.
“Election to the Academy of Trial Lawyers is one of the highest professional honors a trial attorney in our region can achieve,” said Ron Schuler, Member in Charge of Spilman’s Pittsburgh office. “Julian has built an outstanding reputation over the years by rising to the exigent circumstances of trial practice in large cases and small, and by exercising sound practical judgment, unwavering dedication to his clients, and a profound commitment to professional ethics. This recognition reflects the respect he has earned from judges, peers, and the broader legal community. We are proud to see him receive this well-deserved honor.”
Neiser serves as Chair of Spilman’s Litigation Department, Co-Chair of the Construction and E-Discovery practice groups, and Chair of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Group. He also is an adjunct professor in the trial advocacy department at Duquesne University’s Thomas R. Kline School of Law.
Neiser’s practice focuses on complex construction and commercial litigation matters, including disputes involving contracts, intellectual property, shareholder and partnership conflicts, insurance coverage, trade secrets, restrictive covenants, and a wide variety of commercial construction issues. He is a trusted OSHA defense attorney and regularly represents employers in discrimination and other employment-related matters. He also is a member of the AAA Panel of Arbitrators and Mediators.
A testament to his professional excellence and ethical standards, Neiser is included in The Best Lawyers in America for Construction Law and Litigation – Construction, is included on the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers list, and is ranked AV-Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell.
ATLAC is a nonprofit organization of trial attorneys committed to preserving the jury system and the independence of the judiciary. The next induction ceremony is scheduled for October 2026, and Neiser’s membership officially begins January 1, 2027. For more information, please visit atlac.org.
