Two Han Kun partners included in China Business Law Journal's A-List 2021

China Business Law Journal recently published its 2021 list of elite lawyers ("The A-List 2021"). The 200 elite lawyers on the A-List comprise 100 practitioners of Chinese law and 100 international lawyers committed to China-related businesses. They have been widely recognized as authoritative for their outstanding performance in China-related practice, and have impressed their clients with unique legal expertise. Han Kun partners Ms. Rong Fang and Ms. Jin Wang were selected for their excellence and contributions.

Ms. Fang has extensive experience in advising on real estate and infrastructure issues, REITs and asset-backed securitization (ABS) deals. She has advised on over 50 single-type REITs and CMBS/CMBN projects in respect of their establishment, issuances, and exits, accounting for about 60% market share of similar products. Currently, Ms. Fang provides legal services for multiple public REIT projects. Ms. Fang is also an expert in advising on infrastructure and public-private partnership (PPP)-related issues, and has represented clients from a broad range of industries, including water services, area development, rail transit, highways, hydropower, wind power, and garbage disposal. She serves as a PPP expert for the Ministry of Finance and was hired by the Asian Development Bank as a legal expert on its PPP policy research projects in China. She has also been involved with the rulemaking process for multiple PPP and franchise-related policies and regulations in China. In addition, Ms. Fang provides general legal services for many real estate companies and has participated in projects including land acquisitions, project financings, investments, and mergers and acquisitions. Ms. Fang has been repeatedly rated as a leading lawyer in the real estate and construction fields by authoritative directories, such as The Legal 500 and China Law & Practice, and recognized as a noted practitioner in the field of financial derivatives by Chambers and Partners.

Ms. Wang received a Bachelor of Law degree and a bachelor's degree in economics in 2002 from Peking University, and obtained an LL.M. degree in Commercial Law in 2005 from the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom. Ms. Wang has practiced law for nearly 20 years and focuses her practice on overseas IPOs, investment and financing, and mergers and acquisitions. She has extensive experience in advising on capital markets transactions and is especially adept at assisting clients to resolve difficult legal and commercial issues they encounter in deals. She has acted as PRC legal counsel for over 40 overseas listings, has provided long-term legal services to many well-known domestic venture capital funds in respect of their equity investment deals, and has creatively participated in S-fund deals. Ms. Wang serves clients from a wide range of industries such as Internet, telecommunications, entertainment, biomedicine, retail, traditional industries, and mining. Ms. Wang has a deep understanding of and extensive experience in PRC industrial policies, corporate structures, capital operations, and investment and deal management.
