Profile
Álvaro Rifá is principal associate in the Litigation, Arbitration, Restructuring and Insolvency Department at the Garrigues Barcelona office.
In his professional activity he provides advisory services primarily in the specialist areas of civil litigation and insolvency law. In particular, he has experience in:
- Advising on issues of general private law, in the field of contract law.
- Civil and commercial disputes over contractual matters.
- Advising financial institutions in foreclosure proceedings on collateral and personal guarantees for the recovery of claims, debt portfolio purchases and proceedings related to validity and performance banking contracts.
- General advice in insolvency proceedings.
- General advice and participation in arbitration proceedings.
- Strategic, global and complete advice on the client's interests in out-of-court and in-court scenarios.
He makes regular contributions as external lecturer on civil litigation law by giving classes on the law degree program and on the master's degree program for access to the legal profession at Universidad de Barcelona (UB), Universidad de Lleida (UdL), Universidad Pública de Navarra (UPNA) and Universidad Pompeu Fabra.
As well as speaking at seminars, conferences and training and post-graduate programs on subjects related to his practice area.
He obtained first prize in the I and IX editions of the research awards organized by Asociación Catalana de Peritos Judiciales y Forenses.
