Profile

Stefanie needs no introduction. Even if you have not crossed paths, you might have listened to her unique Singaporean take on corporate news as a BBC's "Business Matters” regular guest commentator. Read her razor-sharp op eds on everything from corporate governance to female empowerment in the Business Times. Or heard one of the myriad talks she gives to diverse audiences from bright-eyed undergrads to senior business leaders. Did we mention that she also jointly manages TSMP, heading its transactional practice?

If it seems like the larger-than-life character has unlocked the secret to the 25-hour day, it is because she thrives on the adrenaline rush of impossible timelines. She is also an adroit negotiator, valued by her clients for her commercial savvy and creative solutions in billion-dollar deals that include public takeovers, privatisations and other M&A transactions, as well as IPOs. She is recognised in all her practice areas as a leading lawyer.

Stefanie is an inveterate people person and a super-connector; global clients (she is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese) invariably become part of the "family”, with Stefanie playing the role of consigliere.

She carries over these skills to her philanthropic interests. Stefanie founded SHE: SG Her Empowerment, an independent non-profit organisation with Institution of Public Character status, that strives to empower girls and women through community engagements and partnerships. She has also served in various other charities such as the Community Foundation of Singapore, Dover Park Hospice and Smile Asia.

In 2025, Stefanie was appointed a member of the Monetary Authority of Singapore's Corporate Governance Advisory Committee. She also chairs a sub-committee reviewing the Code of Corporate Governance (CG Code), tasked with considering new provisions or guidance on corporate culture, board effectiveness, and risk management in emerging areas such as artificial intelligence.

Stefanie was also appointed Singapore's representative to the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) for two terms, from 2025 to 2027.
