Santiago Varela is a senior associate in the criminal law practice at the Garrigues La Coruña office.

He has extensive experience advising and defending individuals and legal entities in matters relating to white-collar and corporate crime: corporate offenses; tax offenses; criminal insolvency; money laundering; offenses against intellectual property; environmental offenses; offenses against the public authorities and the justice system; offenses against workers' rights; zoning offenses, among others.

He also provides ongoing advice to companies on the design and implementation of corporate compliance systems aimed at preventing, detecting and, where appropriate, correcting the criminal offenses that may arise in a business organization.

Santiago Varela is a member of the La Coruña Bar Association.
