Sam advises organisations on how to implement AI and other emerging technologies to achieve strategic, commercial, and risk outcomes. With a background in law and experience in management consulting, Sam supports ASX-listed companies across several industries, including financial services, healthcare, and government. Sam helps executive teams and boards design and embed AI tools, systems, and governance frameworks that are practical, compliant, and value-driven.
As Consulting Lead in MinterEllison's Responsible AI matters, he has guided leadership teams through AI governance strategy, risk assessments, and the safe and effective application of emerging technologies. Sam also works in MinterEllison's Legal Optimisation practice, supporting General Counsel's and in-house legal teams to modernise legal operations, adopt emerging technologies, and embed governance frameworks. He advises on strategies to improve efficiency, manage risk, and better align legal functions with broader business goals.

Responsible AI experience:- Developed an AI governance program for a large international healthcare provider, addressing fragmented AI adoption, regulatory uncertainty, and operational risk across multiple jurisdictions via board, executive, and stakeholder engagement and the design and delivery of key responsible AI policies and processes.
- Advised a national private equity firm on Responsible AI governance and disclosure obligations, as well as legal and ethical standards applicable to its portfolio companies across sectors including financial services, healthcare, and education.
- Advised national education providers on responsible AI use in learning environments, including managing risks associated with vulnerable users such as children acting as AI deployers.
- Worked with ASX-listed companies (including in financial services) to navigate evolving AI regulatory regimes and implement risk mitigation strategies aligned to their maturity and industry profile.
- Conducted a cultural review for a major federal government agency, delivering findings and actionable recommendations to drive measurable improvements in leadership, governance, and employee engagement.
