Profile
Piero Fattori is Co-Head of the Antitrust and Regulatory Department at Gianni & Origoni.
He is a recognised expert in domestic and Community antitrust law as well as in Italian antitrust procedure, often assisting leading companies before the administrative court in charge of reviewing the Authority’s decisions and before the civil courts.
He regularly assists leading Italian and international companies before the Italian Antitrust Authority and the Administrative Court in proceedings relating to misleading advertising and unfair commercial practices, assisting major players in the energy, credit, electronic communications and transport sectors.
He was Head of the Italian Competition Authority’s Legal Service from 1995 to 2002.
Piero holds a Law degree from the University of Rome. He is often a speaker at conferences and seminars on Italian and Community antitrust law and has written a number of articles on such topics. He co-authored an authoritative book on the application of Italian competition law (La disciplina della concorrenza in Italia, Il Mulino, 2019, 3rd edition).
He is listed in the International Who’s Who of Competition Lawyers and Economists, and holds a prominent position in the rankings of the major legal directories (Chambers/Legal 500).
He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Associazione Antitrust Italiana (AAI).
He is a member of the Rome Bar Association.
He speaks Italian and English.
