Omar Cordova specializes in maritime law, marine insurance and reinsurance, shipping & admiralty.

His practice focuses on advising clients on insurance policy coverages for transport, hull and machinery, P&I, port liability and stock throughput policy (STP), under both Peruvian and English law. With over 20 years of experience, he is recognized as a leader in the maritime and port recoveries market.

He advises insurance companies, reinsurers, insurance brokers, surveyors, policyholders, P&I Clubs, shipowners and, charterers on disputes relating to transport, hull and machinery and maritime liability policies.

Omar also provides legal counsel in drafting bareboat charter contracts, for time and voyage charters. He has extensive experience handling cases involving maritime salvage, general average, collisions and pollution, both domestically and internationally. Additionally, he assists clients in recovery proceedings, mediation and conciliation processes, as well as in maritime and insurance arbitration and judicial litigation.
