Naledi Ramoabi is an Associate in the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) team in the Corporate Commercial practice, specialising in information technology, media, telecommunications, data protection, and cybersecurity. She has experience advising clients to navigate complex and rapidly evolving regulatory and technology landscapes across industries such as telecommunications, financial services, media, and non-profit organisations.

Naledi has supported clients with a wide range of technology transactions and IT projects. Her expertise includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of technology agreements, such as outsourcing agreements, SaaS services agreements, software licensing agreements, intellectual property licensing agreements, and AI-related agreements. Her experience also extends to delivering training to clients on emerging technologies and regulatory developments, including artificial intelligence and cloud-computing.

Naledi's experience includes providing data privacy and protection advice, drafting legal opinions and memorandums on data privacy regulations in South Africa and other African jurisdictions. She supports organisations in developing and implementing compliance frameworks, managing and responding to cybersecurity and data-breach incidents, and she also provides data privacy training. Naledi also assists clients in preparing for assessments by the Information Regulator and provides on-site support and guidance during the process.

Naledi has advised clients, both foreign and local, on telecommunications laws in southern Africa. She has assisted clients with licensing applications, compliance, and navigating complex regulatory frameworks. Her experience includes drafting and submitting representations to the South African telecommunications regulator, advising clients on compliance with telecommunications regulations, M&A transactions within the telecommunications industry, as well as conducting due diligence investigations on companies in the telecommunications sector.

In addition to her regulatory expertise on data privacy and protection and telecommunications, Naledi advises clients on media and digital content matters. She has been involved on matters regarding OTT services and digital content regulations, including launching video-on-demand, subscription video-on-demand, and video-sharing platform services in various African markets.
