Miguel Cortes Martins is a senior associate in the EU and competition law practice area.
Throughout his professional career, he has worked actively in the area of EU and Competition Law.
Before joining Garrigues, Miguel Cortes Martins worked as a Legal Officer in the Restrictive Practices Department of the Competition Authority between 2017 and 2021. Miguel Cortes Martins began his professional career as a trainee lawyer at the law firm Morais Leitão, Galvão Teles & Soares da Silva (now MLGTS).
Miguel Cortes Martins has been a Member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 2016.
Education
Law degree from the Catholic University of Lisbon Law School (2012). Postgraduate degree in Public Procurement Law and Practice from the Law School of the Catholic University of Lisbon (2012). Postgraduate degree in Regulation & Competition by the Institute of Economic, Financial and Tax Law of the Lisbon Law School (2019).
