Profile
Marylynn Lynch-Gomez is a seasoned Land Professional with over 17 years of experience in acquisitions, development, divestitures, and lease management. Currently, she is part of the Houston Corporate Team, where she specializes in comprehensive due diligence research and reviews for energy-focused clients. Her expertise spans traditional oil and gas, sustainable energy sources like solar and wind, and natural resources involving federal and state public lands mineral resources.
Before joining Hunton in 2019, Marylynn served as a Land Manager for Sierra Resources, LLC. In this role, she oversaw acquisitions and divestitures and managed the development of 55,000 acres in South Texas and 65,000 acres in Ohio.

- Title Management and Regulatory Compliance: Skilled in interpreting complex title documents, managing royalty mineral assets, and ensuring regulatory compliance and strategic operational efficiencies.
- Mining Rights Exploration: Experience in mining rights exploration and development across the western United States, with in-depth research and analysis of records from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), General Land Offices (GLO), and other state and federal resources.
- Mining Title Analysis: Proficient in preparing detailed mining title ownership analysis reports, exhibits, and supporting documents.
- Oil and Gas Transactions: Experienced in interpreting and evaluating title work (e.g., abstracts, title opinions, ownership reports, recorded records) for oil and gas asset transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, credit facility agreements, and complex contractual agreements such as purchase and sale agreements, joint operating agreements, and production sharing agreements.
- State and Federal Energy Issues: Adept at addressing energy-focused state and federal issues, including Texas Railroad Commission client matters and offshore leasing with the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BEOM).
- Escheat Settlement and Royalty Payments: Experienced in escheat settlement resolutions and managing royalty payments.
