Mark is head of the firm's health care practice group and has been advising regional and national health care clients on complex business issues for more than 35 years. Recognized as a leader in healthcare by Chambers USA, which describes his work as "very high quality" (2025), he primarily counsels large integrated delivery systems, academic medical centers, hospitals, and multispecialty group practices. He frequently handles matters involving regulatory compliance, including anti-kickback and "Stark" law issues, false claims act investigations and self-disclosures, health information exchange, health record interoperability, and privacy and security issues.

He has extensive experience advising universities and teaching hospitals on their affiliations with other academic medical center components, and has worked closely with large multispecialty physician practices and faculty practice plans in formulating and implementing physician compensation plans.

Mark also has significant experience advising on business transactions between and among providers and practitioners, corporate governance issues, and certificate of public need requests and appeals.
