Profile
Mario Ybar is counsel and head of the competition practice.
His practice focuses on antitrust, litigation, and mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to joining Garrigues, Mario worked for 15 years at the Chilean competition agency (Fiscalía Nacional Económica -FNE-) where he held different positions: acting national economic prosecutor, deputy national economic prosecutor, head of the mergers division and deputy head of investigations.
He lectures at Universidad de Chile (Competition Law and Policy Diploma) and Universidad del Desarrollo (Master in Business Law). Between March and June 2019 he was visiting professor at Universidad Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Spain).
Mario is a member of the Chilean Bar Association.
