Madison earned her J.D. from Vanderbilt Law School, where she was an editor for the Vanderbilt Law Review. She received her B.A. (magna cum laude) in Institutions & Policy/International Relations from William Jewell College. During college, she also studied politics, philosophy, and economics at the University of Oxford.
