Lieven is a renowned expert in the field of real estate, real estate investment/funds/structures, and construction.
Lieven advises his clients in all aspects of complex real estate transactions, including the structuring of real estate projects, real estate M&A, sale-and-leaseback transactions, joint ventures, leasing, and FIIS structures. Lieven has advised on various major transactions in the Belgian market involving large office developments, shopping centres, several logistic centres, hotels, commercial properties, large inner-city re-developments, and other real estate niche products (including senior citizens' housing and mixed-use projects).
Lieven is a Member and Assessor of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), the world's leading professional body for qualifications and standards in land, property, infrastructure, and construction. He is a senior officer of the Leisure Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA). He is also a member of the Professional Association of the Real Estate Sector (BVS - UPSI), the Belgium-Luxembourg Council for Shopping Centres (BLSC), a member of the legal committee of the European Council of Shopping Places (ECSP), and the Belgian Association for Construction Law (BVBR - ABDC). He is a speaker at various seminars and conferences.
Lieven is also a GUBERNA (Belgian "Instituut voor Bestuurders/Institut des Administrateurs") certified director.
