José Manuel Vázquez has been partner of the Tax Department of Garrigues since 1999, where he has pursued his professional career after a period at Arthur Andersen. He specializes in Tax Law, especially in relation to advisory services in the Private Equity, Telecommunications, Real Estate Groups and Services sectors.

For the last fifteen years, he has advised on many of the most important private equity transactions carried out in Spain, making him a lawyer of choice in the sector.

He specializes in the analysis and planning of investment and divestment structures and corporate reorganizations (mergers, divisions and contributions). He regularly participates in company acquisitions and transfers, in business group restructurings and in acquisition structures.

He has also garnered extensive experience in tax planning of wealth and inheritance, in advice on the reorganization of family groups and, in general, in advice on legal and tax issues to family businesses and high net worth individuals. In this area, he also collaborates frequently with the main Spanish and foreign private banking entities.

He is a member of the Madrid Bar Association and of the Madrid Economists Association.
