Irene González is a partner in the Tax law department of Garrigues' Malaga office, having previously worked for Arthur Andersen, Asesores Legales y Tributarios, which she joined upon completing her university studies in 1996.

Irene is a specialist in Tax law and the Garrigues Partner in charge of Tax Litigation for Southern Spain, she forms part of the working group assigned to the firm's national Tax Litigation line.

As a specialist in Tax Law, she has provided advice on an ongoing basis to major business groups and companies in her region, covering a broad range of sectors (tourism, concessions, technology and real estate, among others) and Foundatios. Where necessary, she receives support from other Garrigues professionals specializing in other areas of law, her aim being to offer a service carefully adapted to meet the needs of her clients and/or requirements deriving from the nature of the matter in question.

As a specialist in Tax Litigation, she is responsible for the management of complex legal proceedings relating to taxation (at State, autonomous community and local level), in addition to advising on verification and investigation proceedings initiated by the Tax administration.

Irene is a teacher at Escuela de Negocios ESESA IMF and member of the Tax Law section of the Malaga Bar Association, where she has served as coordinator for a number of years.

She also participates actively in various seminars and conferences on tax matters pertaining to her specialist field.

She was appointed "Lawyer of the year 2014" in the Tax Law - Malaga category by the international directory Best Lawyers and has been named in its directory of lawyers in Spain every year since 2012.
