Profile

Ignacio Esteban Ros is a partner in the Labor and Employment Law practice.

Specializing in labor, employment and social security law, he joined Garrigues in 2007 and provides advice on strategic and particularly complex labor and HR issues to both domestic companies and multinationals across a wide range of sectors: technology, consulting, industrial, financial institutions, energy, automotive and pharmaceutical, among others.

In 2010 and 2011, he was seconded to NautaDutilh in Rotterdam (Netherlands) and Shearn Delamore & Co in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), where he had the opportunity to become acquainted with other legal systems and learn about labor and employment law practice in other countries, enhancing his legal advice in Spain.

He has participated in numerous significant domestic and international projects over the course of his professional career and is currently a legal adviser with proven expertise in the following areas, among others: litigation; collective labor relations; restructuring and collective layoffs; legal reports and opinions; outsourcing and insourcing processes; mergers and acquisitions; labor audits; social security matters; corporate welfare systems (pension plans and funds and group insurance); senior management; remuneration and compensation systems; labor union elections; company policies and codes of ethics; equality plans; specific training for employees and executives; the legal regime governing expatriate workers; and professional athletes.

Ignacio Esteban Ros is a member of the Madrid Bar Association and lectures and speaks at institutions and universities such as Universidad Europea de Madrid and Centro de Estudios Garrigues.

He is a regular contributor to financial publications such as Expansión.

Ignacio is a lecturer on the Master's Degree in Compliance Officer and the Advanced Course in Whistleblower Channel Manager at the School of Legal Practice at Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

In addition, as a lecturer at Centro de Estudios Garrigues, he has been teaching on various subjects related to labour and social security law, in the Master's Degree in Labour Law, the Master's Degree in Human Resources and the Corporate Compliance Programme, as well as in the "Aula Permanente" Programme, at the Summa University (Ferrovial) and in Orange training courses.

He is also a regular speaker at other universities and specialised national and international forums, such as CEPYME (Spanish Confederation of Small and Medium Enterprises), the Institute of Internal Auditors of Spain, the Institute of Family Business (IEF), the Real Madrid School of Studies of the European University of Madrid, the International Compliance Week, the Compliance Forum, One Day Compliance Barcelona, etc.
