Gunnar Espeland possesses extensive experience in commercial contractual relationships at all stages-from contract execution, through implementation, to conclusion/dispute resolution-particularly in the fields of production, technology development, manufacturing, and the delivery of goods, services, and facilities (e.g., rigs/maritime mobile units) within the energy sector, construction, defense industry, and maritime sector.

Gunnar has specialized expertise in industry-specific contract regulations. He served as a member of the negotiation committee for Offshore Norway (formerly Norwegian Oil and Gas) in establishing the 2015 standard contracts for deliveries in the energy sector (NTK 2015/EPCI standard contracts). Over the years, Gunnar has assisted in major land-based construction projects (including the construction of industrial plants and hospitals), as well as offshore construction projects in the energy sector, involving new builds («greenfield»), modifications («brownfield»), facility decommissioning, subsea construction projects, and renewable energy projects, along with associated procurement for the purchaser's project and operational organization.

With many years of background as in-house counsel within financial conglomerates and energy companies, as well as external legal practice, Gunnar has significant experience in corporate governance support to companies, corporate management, and governing bodies. His experience includes ongoing assistance to startup companies from inception, through development and technology qualification, to commercial operation, as well as long-term corporate legal support and representation for international corporate groups.

Gunnar assists in transactions involving the purchase/sale of licenses/technology/business assets and share transactions. His experience includes assistance in major international transactions as a Norwegian legal advisor, due diligence execution, international US Chapter 11 restructurings, and procurements subject to such restructuring processes.

Gunnar Espeland regularly assists with litigation and prosecutes cases in the courts. His experience includes cases for arbitration, specialized courts (intellectual property and Labor Court), and assistance in international disputes.
