Guillermo Avilés Suárez is a senior associate in Garrigues' tax department. He is a member of the real estate industry team, the practice area in which he specializes. He also specializes in tax litigation. Guillermo joined Garrigues in 2015. He advises numerous multinational corporations on a wide range of tax matters. Among other practice areas, he has experience in:

1. Taxation of real estate companies and real estate sale and purchase transactions.
2. Tax advice to multinational companies and small and medium-sized enterprises.
3. Preparation of tax due diligence reports.
4. Analysis of investment structures in Spain and abroad.
5. Within the tax litigation group, he frequently acts before the various Spanish courts (Supreme Court, National Appellate Court, etc.) in disputes with the tax authorities and he has acted in proceedings conducted before the EU Court of Justice.

He has been a lecturer in seminars and courses on real estate taxation and tax litigation at Centro de Estudios Garrigues and at the Spanish Association of Tax Advisers.

He is a member of the Madrid Bar Association.
