Draft and prosecute patent applications with a focus on mechanical engineering

Greg Churney focuses on all aspects of patent prosecution, which includes preparing and prosecuting domestic and international patent applications. Greg also works closely with clients on portfolio strategy, cross-border IP issues, asset management, risk and how to protect key assets to support business growth. His core technical experience is in the field of mechanical engineering, but he also regularly assists with obtaining patent protection for technologies in the fields of electrical engineering and industrial design. Greg has experience with a wide array of technologies, including:

• Mechanical, operating and vehicle systems
• Medical technology
• Consumer products
• Fastening mechanisms
• Industrial machinery
• Graphical user interfaces (GUI)

In addition to utility patent procurement, Greg also drafts, prosecutes and counsels clients on their domestic and international design patent applications, and develops sophisticated and pioneering design patent filing strategies for clients in the U.S. and abroad. Greg has extensive experience growing and managing domestic and international design patent portfolios.

Greg previously worked as an engineer for a leading automobile manufacturer. He also has practical hands-on experience with HVAC systems and safety risk assessment for manufacturing operations.
