Profile
Eric Rogers is a registered U.S. patent attorney who prosecutes domestic and international patents, assists clients in strategic patent portfolio development, provides licensing and freedom-to-operate advice as well as guidance in USPTO actions and claims. His technical concentrations are in biotechnology, biopharma, biochemistry, immunology, genetics, and molecular biology.
Eric's experience includes:
- Patent drafting, patent prosecution, patentability in biotech: antibodies, ADC, engineered cells, CAR-T;
- Preparing and prosecuting U.S./foreign patent applications in biotech and biopharma focused on immunotoxins, immunotherapy, antibodies, oncoimmunology; and
- Working in-house at biotech startup focused on cancer.
Eric has authored several law review articles and co-authored several scientific research articles.
RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Eric's Ph.D. thesis research was directed to Aurora and polo kinases. Throughout his academic pursuits, he conducted research in various areas:
- Research Associate, UT Southwestern, Dept. of Pharmacology/Green Center for Systems Biology, Ranganathan Lab, protein biophysics, 2008, 2009;
- Post-Doctoral Fellow, UCSD, Dept. of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Donoghue Lab, FGFR3 signaling and tamoxifen resistance, 2005, 2006;
- Doctoral Student, UT Southwestern, Dept. of Molecular Biology, Lin Lab, studied embryonic development, cell fate and cell division, 1999-2004; and
- Research Assistant, UTHSCSA, Dept. of Biochemistry, Serwer Lab, developed biochemical methods to separate biological macromolecules, 1998, 1999.
