Dana Somerstein is a partner in Greenspoon Marder LLP's Real Estate and Banking & Finance practice groups, representing clients in a wide range of real estate transactions, including counseling developers and lenders on the acquisition, sale, financing and leasing of both commercial and residential properties nationwide. She has experience working throughout the U.S., closing transactions involving retail, mixed-use, multi-family, hotel, office, warehouse, condominium, automobile dealership and self-storage. Known for her creative problem-solving and leadership, Ms. Somerstein is a trusted advocate who assumes lead roles in every matter she handles.
Beyond her legal expertise, Ms. Somerstein is deeply committed to making an impact in her community. She recently concluded her role as Chair for 211 Broward, a 24/7 helpline providing crisis intervention and health and human services support, and continues to hold leadership roles with the organization. She is also a board member of Women in Distress of Broward County, an organization dedicated to ending domestic violence. Additionally, she serves as Chair of a leading event for the Innocence Project of Florida, which works to free innocent prisoners and help them rebuild their lives. As a proud double Gator, she enjoys serving as Vice President of her sorority's Housing Board and as a member of the Alumni Advisory Board for Florida Blue Key, the University of Florida's oldest honorary organization.
Ms. Somerstein has been recognized for her exceptional contributions to the legal field, including being named to Best Lawyers® "Best Lawyers in America" for Real Estate Law, Lawdragon's "500 X - The Next Generation," Super Lawyers magazine's "Florida Rising Stars" for Banking, and in 2024 being listed among South Florida Business Journal's "40 Under 40," in addition to several other notable accolades.
