Ciaran is a commercial litigator with over 13 years' experience in a wide variety of disputes. He specialises in commercial, corporate, financial services, professional negligence and real estate disputes (an area in which he is Chambers ranked). Ciaran is a leading lawyer in L500 in the Dispute Resolution category. 

 

Ciaran acts for a wide range of clients including multi-national companies, large financial institutions, public bodies and SMEs. He heads up the Disputes team in Northern Ireland. 

 

Recent experience includes:

 

• Acting in one of the largest breach of warranty claims in Northern Ireland;
• Multiple complex instructions relating to large debts for major financial institutions;
• A complex indemnity dispute for a large property developer in excess of £1.5m;
• A large contractual dispute for one of the largest hotel resorts in Northern Ireland;
• The Defence of a large financial institution in relation to a claim for £2m.

• A large complex indemnity dispute in relation to a claim for losses due to business closure.

 

Ciaran joined Shoosmiths in January 2024 following 3 years in A&L Goodbody and before that 5 years in TLT NI LLP.
