Profile
A senior associate in the Corporate/Commercial Law Department at Garrigues, in the Technology and Privacy practice, Sandra belongs to the Technology & Outsourcing industry group and forms part of Garrigues Digital.
Her areas of expertise include information technology law, e-commerce, intellectual and industrial property, innovation, entrepreneurship and privacy. She has acquired extensive expertise in providing legal advice, at a domestic and international level, to public and private entities on their digital transformation processes, on the drafting of their data protection and technology transfer projects, and on how to bring their procedures into line with data protection legislation.
She has broad experience in advising technology, health, biotech, telecommunications and fintech firms, research centers, start-ups and emerging companies in the technology and digital business sectors, from the conceptualization of their business idea through to its implementation. She has participated in numerous M&A deals in different sectors and has advised both crowdfunding and crowdlending platforms, while also advising on the creation of knowledge-based companies (spin-offs), strategic alliances and internationalization processes.
She has counseled clients from a range of industries on data protection matters, with respect to both the implementation, review and audit of procedures and to litigation, and on information technologies and cybersecurity. She has extensive experience of contracts in the areas of e-commerce, licenses and digital content, and in reviewing and assisting cross-border collaborative projects and EU framework programmes.
Prior to joining Garrigues, from 2008 onwards she practiced as a lawyer at different law firms specializing in the areas of technology, innovation and privacy.
Sandra is a member of the A Coruña Bar Association.
