Miguel García is a partner of the Tax Department of Garrigues.

He is specialized in tax matters, especially in the banking, finance, insurance, real estate, REITs (SOCIMI) and private equity industries. He also has extensive experience in M&A and accounting law.

His areas of expertise include the taxation of financial institutions and insurance companies, as well as all tax aspects relating to capital markets and financial products. He is recurrent advisor for many of the main Spanish and foreign financial institutions operating in these markets.

We has worked and developed some of the biggest Spanish REITs (SOCIMI) and has wide experience with this regime and real estate transactions.

He has wide experience in planning for business reorganizations, acquisitions and divestment, in international tax planning for inward and outward investment, and in international securities issues.

He has advised private equity firms in national and international corporate restructuring, acquisition and divestment projects, regarding tax, accounting and legal issues, leading national and multinational tax and legal teams.

He has been actively involved in analyzing and designing financial products and provides on-going assistance on tax and legal matters to some of the main Spanish and foreign insurance and private banking institutions.

He has been a lecturer on tax law, finance and taxation on various MBAs (Universidad Pontificia Comillas, ICADE).
