Michael Feit is a partner in the Litigation & Arbitration Team with about 20 years of experience in international arbitration and cross-border litigation. He has extensive expertise representing clients in complex disputes under all major arbitration rules (including ICC, LCIA, WIPO and Swiss Rules) and in ad hoc proceedings. Michael Feit also regularly serves as arbitrator, acting as presiding arbitrator, co-arbitrator, and sole arbitrator (including under the ICC, ICSID, and Swiss Rules). Michael Feit is a Member of the Arbitration Court of the Swiss Arbitration Centre.

His practice spans both commercial and investment arbitration, with experience in proceedings seated in civil and common law jurisdictions, and disputes governed by a wide range of laws, including Delaware, English, French and various Eastern European laws.

Michael Feit represents clients across a broad range of industries such as pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, gas delivery, fertilizers, distribution, construction, aviation, telecommunications, railways, transshipment services, and in post-M&A disputes.

Michael Feit has published numerous articles on commercial and investment arbitration and over one hundred case reports on arbitration decisions of the Swiss Federal Supreme Court. He is also co-author of several leading commentaries on arbitration in Switzerland and is regularly invited to speak at international arbitration conferences.

Michael Feit's recent victories for his clients include successfully defending against a post-M&A claim with an amount at stake exceeding USD 100 million, securing the dismissal of a USD 35 million damages claim arising from a failed joint venture in the Middle East, achieving a favorable award in a high-value construction arbitration concerning a turnkey project in South-East Asia, rescinding a share purchase agreement worth one billion Russian rubles based on fraudulent misrepresentation and obtaining favorable arbitral awards and Supreme Court decisions dismissing the claims brought against his clients on jurisdictional grounds.

Michael Feit has been repeatedly ranked as a 'Leading Partner' in Swiss arbitration by Legal 500, calling him 'THE lawyer in the field of arbitration and there is no greater expert', 'the go-to person' and 'one of the brightest, most experienced counsel and arbitrator of his generation'. Michael Feit has also been consistently recognized in recent years as a 'Thought Leader' in Swiss arbitration by Lexology (formerly by Who's Who Legal), quoting peers and clients saying that 'Michael Feit is a highly respected expert in commercial litigation, known for his exceptional ability to navigate complex, high-stakes international disputes, delivering landmark victories' and confirming that 'he receives a plethora of praise for his work in investment arbitration proceedings'. Michael Feit is also recommended by other leading directories Chambers & Partners and Best Lawyers as an arbitration expert.

He worked as a law clerk, as a teaching and research assistant at the University of Zurich for contract law and as a senior associate in the international arbitration practice group of a major law firm in London.
