Profile

Matt Lonergan was a partner before retiring from Bradley. He practiced almost exclusively in the area of labor relations and employment law on behalf of management. In his career, he represented companies throughout the country in the areas of union organizing, collective bargaining negotiations, grievance and arbitration, employment discrimination litigation in both federal and state courts, the National Labor Relations Act, wrongful discharge, wage and hour law, and other employment-related areas. Matt was experienced in ADR and mediation and had served as a mediator in employment litigation matters. He was also a Rule 31 Listed Mediator in Tennessee.

Matt spent a great deal of time consulting with management clients in identifying potential legal issues and resolving day-to-day management and operational issues. He also conducted workplace training and client seminars on a wide variety of personnel issues.

Matt was a member of the Nashville, Tennessee (Labor Law Section), Texas and American (Labor and Employment Law Section) bar associations, and a Fellow of the Nashville Bar Association. He was co-editor of the Labor and Employment Newsletter.

Matt’s work for clients includes a wide variety of industries, such as healthcare, hospitality, automotive manufacturing, construction, engineering, architecture, food services, restaurants, government contractors and industrial maintenance. He has handled employment cases across the country including Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Iowa, Mississippi, Missouri, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Texas. His labor relations work includes advising companies on union organizing campaigns, election strategy, unfair labor practice charges, collective bargaining negotiations, strikes and other work stoppages, injunctions, arbitrations and management training.
