Profile
Marta Veludo dos Santos is a senior associate in the Litigation and Arbitration.
Throughout her career, she has worked actively in the areas of Litigation, Arbitration and Insolvency.
Before joining Garrigues, Marta Veludo dos Santos worked at the Civil and Commercial Litigation and Arbitration Practice Area of Morais Leitão, Galvão Teles, Soares da Silva & Associados (Morais Leitão) for 9 years, since 2007 up to 2016. From 2016 to 2018, Marta Veludo dos Santos worked at DLA Piper ABBC as a senior associate of the Litigation and Arbitration Practice Area.
In 2013, Marta Veludo dos Santos was seconded for 6 months to Clausen Miller LLP in the area of Insurance Law, where she was advised on two high value cases regarding machinery breakdown incidents in South-American terminals.
She has extensive experience in dispute resolution of contractual and corporate cases in various sectors, in particular in energy, construction, aviation, banking, real estate and consumer law, and in pre-insolvency and insolvency matters.
Marta Veludo dos Santos also frequently participates in Due Diligences.
Member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 2010.
Education
Law Degree from the Faculty of Law of the Portuguese Catholic University - Porto (2007).
Attendance of the European and International Economic Crime Specialization Course at the Institute for Economic and European Criminal Law of the University of Coimbra (2011).
Specialization Course in European Civil Procedural Law in Coimbra's European Studies Association (2009).
