Katherine Elza is a Partner in the firm's Property Practice.

Her practice focuses primarily on real property acquisitions, sales and leases,notably in high-end residential communities in western New Providence. She advises on subdivision planning and development, with specialisation in the Planning and Subdivision Act and the Law of Property (Condominium) Act. Her practice also includes title insurance.

Katherine acts for clients in applications for Crown Grants, and other applications requiring government approval. High net worth probate and estate matters, and intellectual property matters are also specialty areas of her practice.

Recent engagements include:

• Advising private clients on the acquisition, ownership and sales of high-end residential property in The Bahamas, particularly in Lyford Cay and Old Fort Bay, and collaborating with real estate agents to identify exclusive real estate opportunities in those communities.
• Tailoring legal solutions for high-net-worth individuals and families relocating to The Bahamas including advice on property, immigration and probate matters.
• Providing advice under the Planning and Subdivision Act and the Law of Property (Condominium) Act to developers in relation to the requirements and process for developing subdivisions and declaring condominiums on New Providence and in the wider family of islands in The Bahamas.
• Acting for clients in respect of making applications to the Government for Crown Grants and Seabed/Jetty Leases.
• Advising clients on the acquisition, ownership, sales and leasing of commercial property in New Providence.
