Profile
Kaley is dedicated to understanding and representing her clients' interests, whether in negotiations, mediation, arbitration or trial, through practical solutions and creative litigation strategy. She has experience representing and providing advice to individuals, media organizations, and newspapers in libel and free expression cases and anti-SLAPP litigation. She regularly provides labour, employment, human rights and Charter advice to government agencies and employers, and has particular expertise in workplace fitness for duty matters. She has represented large corporations and commercial institutions at all levels of court and in domestic and international arbitrations. Kaley has also worked closely with clients through secondments at Coca-Cola and Justice for Children and Youth.
Kaley has appeared as counsel at all levels of courts in Ontario and British Columbia, the Supreme Court of Canada, the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal, the Tax Court of Canada, as well as before administrative tribunals, at arbitrations and inquests.
Kaley is committed to pro bono work. She has provided free legal assistance to young people brought to Canada as children and seeking to regularize their immigration status through Humanitarian and Compassionate Applications. She also regularly represents civil liberties organizations, media groups, journalists, and individuals in important cases, on a pro bono basis.

* Represents companies and large financial institutions in breach of contract disputes and legal claims, both in court and in commercial arbitrations.
* Represents Canada's largest transit system in litigation relating to the implementation of random drug and alcohol testing (2017 ONSC 2078)
* Represents and provides advice to journalists, media organizations and other publishers in pre-publication issues, libel claims, publication bans, and access to information requests. (2018 SCC 28 (CanLII), [2018] 2 SCR 3; 2018 SCC 53 (CanLII), [2018] 3 SCR 374, 2017 ONCA 579)
* Represents defendants in anti-SLAPP motions to have claims against them dismissed (Theralase Technologies Inc. v John Doe No. 1, 2025 ONSC 6524; Sheridan Retail Inc. v Roy, 2025 ONSC 2866 and 2026 ONCA 347)
