Julian Mort is an Associate at ENS in the Competition/Antitrust practice.

Julian specialises in advising clients on all aspects of competition law, including: merger control, prohibited practices, cartel conduct, abuses of dominance and market inquiries.

His experience includes advising on clients on the notifiability of mergers and preparing merger notifications in various African jurisdictions (and regional bodies), as well as advising clients on prohibited practices (including cartel conduct, restrictive vertical practices and abuse of dominance) and market inquiries. He has previously worked across a wide range of industries and different African jurisdictions (and regional bodies) including: Angola, Botswana, CEMAC, COMESA, Egypt, ECOWAS, Kenya, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, eSwatini and Tanzania

In addition, Julian is also experienced in advising clients on broader competition law issues, including strategic guidance and legal opinions. His experience extends to conducting due diligence reviews, preparing merger compliance reports, and assisting with responses to information requests and enquiries from competition authorities across a range of African jurisdictions.

He is a member of the Association of Competition Law Practitioners. He has also authored various competition law-related articles for the EU Competition Law Review and has prepared headnotes for the Butterworths Competition Law Report.
