José Vicente Iglesias is a partner in the Tax Law Department of Garrigues, where he has continued to develop his professional career following a period at Arthur Andersen Asesores Legales y Tributarios and Altair Asesores. He specializes in business taxation and tax litigation. He has also participated in numerous acquisitions, corporate transactions and reorganizations (M&A) and is responsible for providing legal advice and drawing up protocols on good corporate tax governance.

He has extensive experience and has pursued his career in a number of areas, including energy, retail industry and real estate, and has acted as lawyer and adviser on tax matters to high-profile Spanish and multinational entities operating in those industries. He also provides on-going tax and corporate advice on the main M&A and restructuring transactions carried out by such entities.

He is a litigation expert and has been involved in numerous highly-complex tax lawsuits spanning a range of areas, including claims for infringement of EU, autonomous community and local legislation. He has a wealth of experience in tax inspections and appeals against tax assessments.

José Vicente features as a recommended tax lawyer in "Best Lawyers", is a member of the Madrid Bar Association and is a regular speaker at seminars and conferences organized by the firm, Centro de Estudios Garrigues and other institutions, such as the Spanish Association of Compliance Professionals, the Spanish Association of Executives and the International Faculty for Executives (IFAES), among others.
