José Manuel is a partner in the Labor and Employment Law Department at Garrigues, where he has pursued his professional career following his time at Arthur Andersen. Within the labor and employment law area, he specializes in providing strategic advice on labor law and HR-related matters to senior executives and corporate HR management.

With a view to maintaining a global overview of the business world, José Manuel is a member of various in-house groups and industries at Garrigues: Banks and Financial Institutions, Corporate Social Responsibility and Sports & Entertainment.

Among other areas, he is an expert in managing and advising on the labor-law related aspects of domestic and international corporate transactions (mergers, acquisitions, outsourcing, etc.) and on all of the processes deriving from such transactions: reorganizations and restructuring, business successions, harmonizing collective labor agreements, senior management contracts, etc. He regularly contributes to the implementation of these types of processes at private equity entities, investment funds, etc. as well as collaborating with the other international firms involved.

In the field of sports law, José Manuel advises some of Spain's leading sports entities and is the labor and employment member of the Sports&Entertainment industry.

He also advises and collaborates with the foremost international institutions and business guides (World Bank, World Justice Project).

José Manuel has been singled out for inclusion in the legal world's top directories, such as Chambers, Who's Who and Best Lawyers, in which he has appeared for the last years .

He lectures on the Executive Master's Programs and specialized Masters at Centro de Estudios Garrigues.

He regularly speaks at seminars and courses staged by the Firm and an array of specialist centers.

He is a member of the Madrid Bar Association and the Spanish Labor Law Forum (FORELAB).
