Jon Stone partners with universities, research institutions and emerging tech ventures to craft forward-looking intellectual property (IP) strategies that transform breakthrough research into real-world impact. With a deep understanding of the unique challenges and goals of tech transfer offices, Jon translates complex scientific and engineering innovations into IP assets that align with commercialization pathways and industry interest.

His experience spans a range of high-growth fields, including:

• Medical imaging and diagnostics
• Artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, deep learning, neural networks, generative AI and agentic AI systems
• Health information technology (HIT)
• Radiation and nuclear physics

Jon's approach is rooted in strategic collaboration - working closely with his clients to identify IP opportunities and position technologies for licensing, spinouts or partnership. With a pulse on market trends and emerging technologies, Jon delivers actionable legal insights that support institutional missions, drive revenue and accelerate innovation to market.

Jon also is an adjunct professor at Marquette University Law School, where he teaches courses in patent drafting, prosecution and analysis.

Jon is co-chair of the Artificial Intelligence team.
