John Gillmor was a partner when he retired at Bradley. His practice focused on healthcare, corporate law, and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining a predecessor to the firm as a partner in 1989, he was executive vice president, general counsel and a director of HealthAmerica Corporation, a NYSE listed company that operated health maintenance organizations providing care to over one million members. Prior to that he was senior vice president and general counsel of Hospital Affiliates International, Inc., a NYSE listed company that operated and managed approximately 200 hospitals in the United States and abroad. John was a former president of the Board of Trustees of University School of Nashville, the Boards of Directors of the Nashville Opera Association, and the Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition, he was past chairman of the continuing legal education committee of the Nashville Bar Association. He founded successful boutique law firms catering to the alumni of Hospital Affiliates and HealthAmerica, which were the base of his practice at the firm. John also counseled and advised the directorship of a not-for-profit corporation board.

John has negotiated the acquisition of over 100 hospitals, nursing homes, HMOs and physician practice groups during his almost 50 year career, and has extensive experience in negotiating financial arrangements to fund the acquisitions and the subsequent operations of the facilities.
