Irina Dashevsky is a partner and Co-Chair of Greenspoon Marder LLP's Cannabis Law practice group. Ms. Dashevsky advises clients on legal, regulatory, and legislative developments in the highly regulated and competitive cannabis industry. She is also a seasoned commercial litigator. Ms. Dashevsky represents a range of cannabis and hemp clients, including public multi-state operators (MSOs), state-licensed dispensaries, cultivators, infusers, distributors, social equity entrants, ancillary businesses, and those looking to enter the cannabis space. Her practice includes nearly every aspect of the cannabis industry, from state-level licensing, real estate, regulatory and compliance matters to precedent-setting cannabis-related litigation, mergers and acquisitions. Ms. Dashevsky's practical and business-minded approach to counsel makes her a sought-after resource in the rapidly evolving and complicated cannabis industry across the U.S., and particularly in Illinois and New York. She is a Board Member of the U.S. Cannabis Roundtable and serves on its Executive Committee.
Over the past several years, Ms. Dashevsky has been at the forefront of cannabis law and holds an active role in the Illinois' cannabis law community and is a champion for the industry at the federal level, regularly lobbying for reform in Washington D.C. Since 2024, she has been recognized by Chambers & Partners USA as a "Leading Lawyer" in Cannabis Law and was among Law360's "MVPs" in Cannabis Law for 2023. Considered a thought leader, Ms. Dashevsky frequently publishes and presents on the legal and business issues facing the cannabis and hemp industry. Notably, Ms. Dashevsky served as a member of Law360's Cannabis Editorial Advisory Board and as the Chair for the Steering Committee for the Chicago Bar Association Leadership Institute for the past several years.
As a seasoned litigator, Irina Dashevsky has extensive experience managing and resolving complex disputes for clients throughout all stages of litigation in federal and state courts. She has handled a wide range of matters, including insurance coverage defense, consumer finance defense, class action defense, contract disputes, government contracts and regulation, gaming, real estate and complex mortgage foreclosures.
Prior to joining Greenspoon Marder, Ms. Dashevsky was a partner at Locke Lord and served as Co-Chair of Locke Lord's Cannabis Industry Group and as Co-Editor of the firm's Cannabis Law Blog.
