Grant is known as a fierce advocate who applies common sense to solve complex legal and business problems. He has the ability to pierce through to the essence of disputes and lead clients to practical, cost-effective solutions.
Grant has practiced exclusively in the area of commercial litigation since the 1980's. He has been lead counsel of record in over 130 reported decisions. He has acted for clients in complex civil actions and arbitrations related to real estate, construction, professional negligence, shareholder oppression, estates and many other business and commercial disputes. Grant has also acted as a mediator and arbitrator of civil disputes.
Grant has been a Bencher of the Law Society of Alberta since 2020. In that capacity he has served as Chair of the Lawyer Conduct Committee, the Credentials and Education Committee and the Practice Review Committee. He has acted as Disciplinary Tribunal Member and written several reported Decisions related to lawyer misconduct.

Professional Career
* Acted for a development company that was awarded in excess of $200 million in a breach of contract case. Remington Development Corporation v. Canadian Pacific Railway Company, 2022 ABKB 692.
* Acted for the University of Calgary at trial and on appeal in relation to a dispute over construction of a hotel on campus. University of Calgary v. Riddell Kurczaba Architecture, 2019 ABCA 195.
* Acted for a lawyer in an appeal to the Alberta Court of Appeal over a contractual dispute. Hudye Group v. Rosowsky, 2025 ABCA 51.
* Acted for a condominium corporation in a complex class action against a builder, developer, engineers, architects, lawyers and an approving authority in relation to 7 buildings that were condemned causing damages in excess of $100 million. Condominium Corporation No. 0321365 v. Prairie Communities, 2017 ABQB 396.
* Acted for a development company in defending a case relating to the contractual duty of good faith. Remington Development Corporation v. Strategy Summit Ltd., 2012 523 A.R. 329.
* Acted for the claimant in obtaining the largest award ever made under the Alberta Surface Rights Act. Enmax Power Corporation v. Remington Development Corporation, 2022 ABLPRT 1368.
* Has represented clients in applications, trials and appeals in the Alberta and Saskatchewan Courts of Kings Bench and Courts of Appeal, the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada
* Has extensive experience bringing and defending applications for emergency injunctive relief in numerous scenarios, including shareholder disputes, breach of restrictive covenants and non-competition agreements, franchisor/franchisee, intellectual property and other disputes
* Has represented clients in numerous shareholder disputes and oppression actions
* Has extensive experience in litigation over defamation, wills, estates and enforcement of guarantees
