Profile
Mr. Crowell works closely with employers to solve difficult employment-related problems, stay compliant with applicable laws, litigate claims filed in federal, state, and local courts and agencies throughout the United States, and support M&A and restructuring activities.
Mr. Crowell has significant experience supporting employers with the following:
drafting and reviewing employment-related documents, like employee handbooks, personnel policies, offer letters, employment agreements, commission and bonus plans, severance agreements & restrictive covenants
making hiring, disciplinary, and termination decisions
managing leaves of absence and accommodation requests
investigating internal discrimination, harassment, retaliation, safety, and whistleblower complaints
managing investigations, audits, and inspections by the EEOC, USDOL, OSHA, NLRB, and their state and local counterparts
defending discrimination, harassment, and retaliation lawsuits
defending wage and hour class actions, collective actions, and private attorneys general (PAGA) lawsuits
filing and defending lawsuits involving trade secret, non-compete, non-solicit, and non-disclosure violations
transactions and restructuring, including due diligence, transferring employees, acquiring employees, leasing employees, and large layoffs
Prior to practicing law, Daniel served as a Military Policeman in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Crowell's service included a combat deployment to Iraq in 2008 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
