Profile

Apurva Dharia focuses his practice on health information technology, privacy, and security. He assists clients with data privacy and security guidance, and develops strategies and data use agreements (DUAs) that enable clients to leverage real-world data from health systems, research universities, and pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers. Apurva also has experience developing organizational privacy programs, and provides privacy risk assessments and mitigation strategies for initiatives that involve the collection, creation, use, or storage of sensitive information (e.g., protected health information (PHI) or personally identifiable information (PII)).


Prior to joining the firm, Apurva worked as a Lead Policy Analyst at a federally funded not-for-profit organization, and as a Senior Healthcare Analyst at a biotechnology company. In these roles, Apurva consulted for various federal agencies by developing policy and regulatory language, including for Surprise Billing, Price Transparency, Medicare New Technology Add-on Payments (NTAP), HIPAA Administrative Simplification, 42 CFR Part 2, and more.
