Profile
Andrew Papadopoulos is an Executive at ENS in the Intellectual Property practice.
Andrew has more than 2 decades of experience in enforcing and defending intellectual property rights, including trade mark oppositions, cancellations and infringements, copyright disputes, unlawful competition matters, geographical indications (GI), company name objections, advertising complaints before the Advertising Regulatory Board, domain name disputes (ADR, UDRP and URS), regulatory disputes (food, liquor and product labelling) and counterfeiting matters. Andrew acts for large foreign and local corporates and has been involved in high profile litigation matters over the years, including many proceeding to the Supreme Court of Appeal, as well as being one of the few IP practitioners with matters proceeding to the Constitutional Court of South Africa.
Andrew’s experience extends beyond South Africa, into Africa and other foreign countries, offering clients global and holistic enforcement strategies.
Andrew is a member of the Copyright Law Committee of the South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law (“SAIIPL”), a senior adjudicator of the .co.za Alternate Dispute Resolution (“ADR”) panel of the SAIIPL, and is a member of the GI Committee of the International Trademark Association (“INTA”).
