Profile

Adam Baker focuses his practice on patent prosecution before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Adam prosecutes patent applications across a wide range of technologies, including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, chemistry, and mechanical engineering. He also helps clients develop and manage their intellectual property portfolios. On the trademark side, he prepares and prosecutes applications and defends registered marks on behalf of clients.

Adam draws on nearly a decade of experience as a patent examiner at the USPTO, where he examined applications in the biomedical and mechanical engineering arts, ranging from therapeutic instruments and orthotic devices to surgical accessories. That tenure provided him with a firsthand understanding of how the USPTO operates and direct experience conducting prior art searches, applying patent eligibility requirements, and determining allowable subject matter. He uses that insider perspective to craft prosecution strategies that anticipate examiner concerns and advance client objectives.
